The European know-how industries, and in particular our pumps, compressors, faucets and valves sectors, have for an extended time considered the enhancement of their global competitiveness inside the challenges of societal and environmental challenges, notably by contributing to the preparation of power effectivity and ecolabel rules. These developments, amidst ever extra fierce worldwide competitors, require that public authorities and trade within the EU work more and more more intently to design and deploy strategies that reinforce our competitiveness and our contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In our explicit arena, that relates, of course, to the manufacture, distribution and use of pumps and all pump related tools – an enormous and necessary subset of business, given the width and breadth of pump purposes.
Against this backdrop, one of many primary concerns when figuring out the core themes for the joint convention was to take care of a direct reference to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Within this focus, the three associations intend to focus on how, along with the importance for companies to address technical elements impacting their daily enterprise operations, they contemplate the constructive function of business in addressing societal challenges. Indeed, all of the periods could have a technical theme matching essentially the most applicable UN SDG, and with representation from the European Commission along with technical consultants from industry and/or research institutes, they’ll every be reflective of the present legislative terrain, because it pertains to pumps and pumping methods in the following key areas:
